10 Frustrating Mario Party Moments That Ruined Friendships

6. Paddle Battle

While Honeycomb Havoc is an every man for himself type deal, there's also 1 vs 3 minigames, where 3 players are paired together on one team against the remaining person. Of all of those, Paddle Battle is definitely one of the most frustrating.

What's so profoundly messed up here is that the game pits two teams against each other and then puts them on the same boat together. The goal here is to paddle down the river, but along the shore there are Shy Guys on the right and left side with spears ready to violently stab everyone. If the three player team gets stabbed, the one player gets their coins. If the one player gets stabbed, the three players get his coins.

So basically, the whole goal here is to just be a jerk, desperately rotating the control stick to steer your opponent in the wrong direction. With that, then, you already have a bunch of screaming as each team is desperately trying to stay off the edge while being actively sabotaged by their friends.

But then you also have screaming within the three person team, because all these players have to coordinate how they're going to paddle, which is flat out impossible. Oh, and now you have to work together and strategize with that guy you just screwed over in the last minigame

Good luck with that.
