10 Games That Will Inevitably Disappoint Us All In 2013

2. The Last of Us

I won't lie: I'm looking forward to this game a lot which is exactly why it will be a disappointment. Over the past few years every game that I've wanted to come out has ended it with me popping out to the local to drown my sorrows. I Am Alive was a similar game to The Last of Us and ended up as a complete train wreck, albeit a train wreck I kept visiting until I deleted any existence of it from my PS3; the point is I Am Alive made me want to play more games like it and The Last of Us promises exactly what I want. Sure you've got a tag along girl who at first I thought was going to gibber in the corner crying, but she seems to be rather useful and slower than you so she may come in handy. They may have thrown in zombies...at least I think they're zombies...into the game, but the fact they've coupled them with normal humans as enemies, you're going to have your work cut out for you just trying to survive. The question is, if I think this game is good why do I think it's going to be disappointing? It can't just be because I've been hurt before, no it's because of Naughty Dog. See if we look at their history, they've only dealt with this genre when they worked on Uncharted. Whilst we can agree that the first two games were great fun, their 2012 release of the third game flopped. When I say flopped I mean I didn't like it, sure it received many awards, was acclaimed a resounding success and was nominated game of the year by many companies but come on...these are the same people who said Dragon Age 2 was good, gave Dishonored tons of awards and consistently claim that every Call of Duty game is a work of art. What I'm trying to say is that I take these review companies with a pinch of salt and then dips all their reviews in a bucket of the stuff to clean it up. Couple all of that with all the pressure it's getting from the press for being good and a part of me is wondering whether I should cancel my pre-order. I want it to be a good game, I want to put it in the box, albeit a very small box, of games that I thoroughly enjoy. The problem is, knowing my luck I won't be granted this small request. I'm going to get it through the mail, slide it into my PS3 play a few hours of it and then hurl the entire console out of the window and find the nearest pub and forget about any game that was released in the past 2 years.
