10 Gaming Franchises Sega Really Need To Resurrect

8. Sega Rally

Sega Rally is definitely one of the newest franchises to appear on this list, first hitting the arcades in 1994, and also one of the freshest in people’s memories, the last game (Sega Rally 3) was released just 5 years ago in 2011.

This doesn’t make it any less worthy of appearing on the list though, especially with the resurgence of rally games as a genre. We have just seen both a new DiRT game and the excellent Sebastian Loeb Rally Evo appear very recently for the new generation of consoles.

What’s more baffling about the absence of a new entry in this series is that the Japanese gaming giants have somewhat of a reputation for producing great racing games with titles such as OutRun, Daytona USA, Sonic All-Stars Racing and Super Hang-On amongst their vast back catalogue.

With the advancements of online gaming there has never been a better time to bring Sega Rally back, think Forza Horizon 2 but in a rally environment. Starting at the bottom, earning your place in races, upgrading your car, earning money to purchase new ones and touring a large map looking for competition. I can't think of anything better personally.
