This entry is going to have some major spoilers for Doki Doki Literature Club. However, it has been a long time since this game came out, so if you're somehow still sleeping on it, then download it now; it's free!

Part of the appeal of Doki Doki was how well it integrated with and manipulated the video game medium. This seemingly generic harem dating simulator turned into a full-on nightmare after you discovered that one of the characters was sentient, and she started interacting with you directly. Moving this over to anime would lose an element of that direct interaction, but it opens up the door for new possibilities.

There's plenty of ways an anime could play with the style, in a similar vein to how the game did. It could manipulate the website it's being streamed on, buffering and maybe even controlling the time bar. Just like the game itself, this would be shocking, subversive, and a tonne of fun.

Plus, it already uses an anime art style, which is yet another golden ticket to success.
