10 Gaming Franchises That Deserve To Be Revived
4. Starcraft
You would think that being the best selling PC strategy game of all time and generating over $1 billion in total revenue would be more than enough to justify a new game in the Starcraft series. But even though Starcraft has cemented itself in gaming history and has proven to be so successful and profitable, there has been no sign of a sequel for Starcraft in years.
To put things in perspective, the last main game in the Diablo series was Diablo III back in 2012, while Starcraft II came out in 2010. Both games received expansions in the mid 2010’s, but Blizzard Entertainment have already confirmed that Diablo is getting a fourth instalment and have still not confirmed anything new for Starcraft.
But the Starcraft community remains undeterred by the lack of news of a sequel and continues to enjoy the game, which also garnering a massive presence in esports.
Blizzard may have a lot of other games to consider making new content for, but considering how long it has been since the last main game in the Starcraft franchise, it could be argued that it is high time Starcraft gets its long awaited third instalment.
