5. You're The Bad Guy - Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic

You begin the game as an amnesiac Jedi who slowly begins to piece together his memory while trying to ensure that the evil Sith Lord Darth Malak doesn't manage to strengthen his grip on the galaxy. Throughout the game, you're told that Malak once had a master who was even more fierce, Darth Revan. As it turns out at the end of the game, you are Darth Revan, one of the most feared Sith in all of the galaxy, and after spending countless hours playing through the game as a good guy, that's a pretty freaking hefty revelation to have to deal with. Given how so many Star Wars games simply make us play as a generic, garden-variety Jedi, it's great that one of the games actually does something different and asks us to reconsider the actions we've taken over this 30-40 hour odyssey. And you're probably going to feel like crap when you realise how bad you've been in your "past life".
