We were all devastated when Ubisoft's ace in the hole, the ambitious techno-thriller Watch Dogs, was delayed from its original November 2013 release date to what most believe to be sometime in Q2 of this year. Though a firm release date is apparently imminent, this delay caused many, myself included, to become suspicious that perhaps the game wasn't as great as its slick marketing campaign suggested, and Ubisoft were taking more time to spruce things up after GTA V blew us all away. Hype can be damaging if it's too intense, and I'm worried about what this means for the game. On one hand, the delay has helped cool everyone's excitement down to a more realistic level, but you can bet that in the weeks leading up to its release, the hype train will be full speed ahead once again, and I'm just not convinced the game has the chops to meet it head on.
