3. The Elder Scrolls Online Is A Catastrophic Failure
Not exactly an original opinion by any means, but there's been so much negative press surrounding Bethesda's attempts to take The Elder Scrolls series online that it's really difficult to ignore. The MMO genre as a whole has come under a lot of scrutiny in recent years, with any new enterprise being faced with the question: can it tackle World of Warcraft? Despite an admirable effort and $200 million, Star Wars: The Old Republic couldn't do it, so I don't fancy this game's chances. In addition to this, there's the relatively high subscription cost (especially when combined with XBL and PSN subscriptions), the likely bugginess considering it's a Bethesda game, and the fact that the reviews from beta tests so far have been mixed to say the least. It's not exactly what you want storming out of the gate, and I imagine that this time next year, the game, which releases in April on PC and June on PS4 and Xbox One, will largely be regarded as a joke.
