9. The Last Guardian Isn't The Masterpiece You Hoped For
The Prediction: With the long-awaited adventure game finally hitting stores from October 25th, would it be all that surprising if it fell rather short of the immense, arguably insurmountable hype surrounding it? Expect a decent-if-underwhelming Metacritic score of around 75-80, far from what fans were hoping for.
Why It Will Happen: The game has been in development for over a decade, it's switched platforms, and fans have built the game up so much that the end product probably can't live up to the expectations. Plus, it's possible that the platform switch will result in a technically shoddy (or at least dated-looking) final product.
Why It Might Not: Then again, Team ICO's ICO and Shadow of the Colossus both scored near-universally positive reviews upon release, and the hope is that this game has taken so long because it has been nurtured to perfection. Anything less would be tremendously disappointing.
