10 Gaming Villains We Secretly Wanted To Beat Us

10. Shao Kahn (Mortal Kombat)

Shao Kahn €“ representing the embodiment of evil in the Mortal Kombat universe €“ looks exceedingly cool as soon as you lay eyes on him. From that iconic skeleton helmet to his potent €˜light spear€™ attack, Shao Kahn is easily one of the best designed characters in the legendary series of arcade fighting games which is why the developers have tampered with his appearance so little over the years. However, the aptly named Shao Kahn the Konqueror is bent on domination over Earthrealm so why do we still want to see him triumph over the likes of Johnny Cage, Liu Kang or Raiden? If it wasn€™t for the actions of Shao Kahn, there would be no Mortal Kombat gaming franchise. He organises the legendary tournament €“ albeit as a means of seizing power €“ and for this we must be eternally grateful to him. If Shao Kahn were finally successful in his takeover, the combat-loving warlord would likely host even more, grander tournaments; perhaps even allowing for large teams to compete, and what a Mortal Kombat game that would make!
