10 Genius Fourth Wall Breaks In 2016 Video Games

7. The Witcher 3: Blood & Wine - Geralt Addresses The Player

The Witcher 3 deserved every accolade it won in 2015, and 2016's DLC expansion 'Blood & Wine' saw CD Projekt Red deliver not just an exciting new adventure, but enough content for a new game, where the player was able to explore a new map in the fairytale Beauclair. In typical Witcher fashion, the main story missions were just the tip of the iceberg, with tens of hours worth of side-quests and unusual landscapes and dungeons to explore.

After being trampled in an arena, fighting cave-dwelling nasty kikimoras, lifting hideous curses and battling higher vampires and their armies, Geralt and vampire chum, Regis, treat themselves to a rare moment of reflection. Whether you saved Beauclair and it's royalty, or, like me, thought you did... only for them to die later, Geralt retreats to Regis' cosy getaway in the graveyard.

The pair reflect on their past deeds and possible futures and Geralt opts to stay seated under the stars awhile longer before deciding what he'll do next. Regis agrees, citing that with all the hardship they have been through, they deserve some rest.
Geralt nods, repeats "that we do", then smiles at the camera.
