7. Rewind Time In-Game Instead - The Talos Principle (2014)

In a puzzle game, the 'Restart level' option in the main menu is something you usually become quite well-acquainted with. It's infuriating enough that you've mucked up the puzzle, but waiting around for everything to reset can sometimes be the final nail in the coffin.

The Talos Principle has you play as an advanced android, and with that comes some pretty nifty benefits. Built into your arm is a device that can literally rewind time to the point before you began the puzzle. This process takes barely two seconds, totally negating the need to go into the menu and reload the whole area.

Whether you've got yourself somewhere you can't get out of, lost an essential item behind a closed gate, or just want a fresh start, holding the button for a brief moment will completely reverse all of the actions you've made up till this point.

By doing this, you're saving yourself a ton of annoyance watching plain loading screens, as well as maximising the time you're in control of your character.
