8. Skyrim Forcing You to Keep Useless Crap
You might not consider this game ruining, but for slightly OCD completionists like myself, having immovable items in your inventory is a major source of unnecessary irritation. Sometimes in Skyrim, youd be given items as part of a quest. Its usually simply take this to this guy, or you need this to get through that magical barrier. In a particular case, the
Onmunds Request mission, you had to retrieve the Grand Staff of Charming from a random location. However, if youd already retrieved the staff totally feasible in a game like Skyrim the quest would bug and youd be unable to complete it. The staff, which had a weight of 8, would then be stuck in your inventory for ever more. Luckily, some clever fiend developed a fix for those savvy enough to look for it, and Bethesda eventually addressed the issue with patch 1.4, but this isnt the only occasion on which something like this can happen. Of course we forgive Bethesda for releasing games rife with more bugs than a rotting tree stump; their games are so expansive after all, how could they possibly catch everything? Still, this one annoyed the crap out of me and I bet countless others, in the same way that a shred of chicken stuck between the teeth does.
