10 Great Video Game Sequels NOBODY Asked For

8. Knack 2

Final Fantasy Xiii Lightning
Sony

Nobody asked for Knack when it arrived in 2013, so Knack 2 was even less desired. It did, however, improve upon the first in many ways.

Knack 2 was haphazardly announced at PlayStation Experience in 2016, which was a shame given the immense expectations Sony had of its predecessor. Knack was in line to be the next poster child of the company, much like Sackboy and Little Big Planet was to the PS3, but the sales weren't particularly strong and the critical response was even less consistent.

It has since been ridiculed, and it's undoubtedly deserving of some light-hearted jabs fired its way, but the sequel did well to develop upon the ideas that the first game had. The combat has been greatly expanded, strategy is required to get the best out of the enemy encounters, and the story is charming enough to overlook some of its uneven writing.

The biggest problem that Knack 2 couldn't seem to overcome was that there simply wasn't a demand for it. The PlayStation 4 had been around for years, so nobody felt the need to play a game that has such a stunted legacy.
