Developer: Sega Release: 1998 Best Game: Shenmue Admittedly, of all the games on this list, the Dreamcast is the most likely one that you have actually played. A hugely successful launch meant that over 10 million units were sold, but Sony's announcement of the PlayStation 2 under a year after made consumers totally lose interest and sales plummet. The Dreamcast was ahead of its time in many ways. For starters, all units shipped with the ability to connect online and play against gamers over the internet. The graphics were also incredible, and it was the first console that was able to render full frames rather than interlaced. Add in the fact that the Dreamcast's library contained a ridiculously high number of classic titles, such as Shenmue, Crazy Taxi and Jet Set Radio, and it seems totally unfair that Sony ruined the Dreamcast so early in its life. Have you played any of these underappreciated consoles? Are there any that we missed on this list? Let us know in the comments below!
