Developer: Western Technologies & Smith Engineering Release: 1982 Best Game: Space Wars A classic example of bad timing, the Vectrex entered the industry only months before the video game crash of 1983. The only home console to ever make use of a vector screen, the Vectrex gave gamers a remarkably similar experience to being at the arcades. Considered to be one of the most underappreciated consoles of all time, the Vectrex was arguably the best way to play many of the arcade ports from home. There's never really been a console like the Vectrex released since, with its built-in screen, sturdy controller and unique vector graphics. To this day, the Vectrex maintains a solid cult following, with many believing it to be the greatest pre-crash home console ever made.
