Okay, we're going to break the 'big section of gameplay before the reveal' rule just for one entry, because this one is just too brilliant to not include - and it does still come after you control Wolverine for a small time. Diving out of a helicopter into an African militia compound, Logan freefalls without a parachute down through the clouds, picking up speed and velocity at quite a pace until he lands - claws outstretched - straight onto a hapless guard. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3TYh6osXlgA#t=29 It's a moment that would have single-handedly saved the naff film tie-in this was promoted alongside, as needless to say the moment itself is so completely over the top that the man is completely eviscerated. The game itself was actually a very solid third-person action adventure, taking the core 'God of War combat' and throwing in a brilliant deforming character model for Wolverine that would slowly get blasted apart through gunfire and explosions - only for his healing factor to sew him back up again. It's one of the best superhero games this side of Spider-Man 2, and even though the game switches control back to you for some over-indulgent claw-based slaughter, those first few seconds of slow motion where the guard looks up and Wolverine is just above him are just brilliant.
