In any other colour, Delver of Secrets would perhaps be a mediocre card that we completely look over, however it’s a one mana blue card which is part of what makes it so powerful. While only a measly 1/1 on play, having an instant or sorcery on the top of your deck will transform Delver of Secrets into one of the strongest early plays in the game.
His transformed form is a 3/2 creature with flying, thus completely invalidating your opponent’s defence unless they have any sort of flying or reach blockers. Also, if you get lucky and Delver flips on the first keep, since transforming doesn’t give a creature summoning sickness you could be doing 3 damage by turn 2.
Furthermore, as this card is in blue, there are many spells at your disposal to stack the top of your deck in any way you want, thus ensuring an early flip.
