10 Greatest Pokémon From Generations I And II

9. Kingdra

KIngdra Water/Dragon Horsea - Seadra - KINGDRA Horsea becomes Seadra at Level 32, Seadra evolves into Kingdra via trade when holding the item Dragon Scale Kingdra is a not always an easy Pokémon to train up: firstly, you need a buddy to trade with just to get it or you have to have two Gold/Silver/Crystal cartridges so you can trade with yourself. Secondly, they're difficult to integrate into your party at the start of your adventure. The earliest place to find yourself a Horsea is at Whirl Islands, which is just off Olivine City - at this point, your Pokémon are probably nearing Level 30 and Horsea would therefore take a long time to catch up level wise. However, if you are willing to get Horsea up to speed then you're training yourself a really cool and well rounded future Pokémon. Once Horsea becomes Seadra and Seadra becomes Kingdra then you have yourself a monstrous looking sea monster that is only weak to one type of Pokémon - the Dragon type. Kingdra can also learn some pretty intense moves such as Hydro Pump, Blizzard and Hyper Beam. All these moves on top of the useful HM moves Surf and Waterfall mean Kingdra is both seriously strong and seriously cool in appearance. Plus, your friend probably doesn't have one so you'll have bragging rights too.
