It's only taken 21 years, but Nintendo are finally releasing a sequel to Pokémon Snap! Those of you who missed out on the original release may not get what all the fuss is about, but Pokémon Snap holds a special place in the hearts of all those lucky enough to experience it back in 1999.

Pokémon Snap was the first time gamers got to witness Nintendo's wildly popular menagerie exist outside the confines of a battle arena, and we were not left disappointed. Nintendo filled the game with memories that still bring a smile to its players' faces, 20 years later. Watching a troop of Charmanders march past your vehicle, chasing after Mew across the stars, and the game's showstopper moment - seeing the Magikarp you helped return to the river evolve into a Gyarados and burst through a waterfall. It looks quaint now, but it was spectacular at the time.

Even now, watching Pokémon simply live in their world feels like a special treat, and hopefully Nintendo can recreate the magic of the original Pokémon Snap in its long-awaited sequel. Given their track record, we wouldn't bet against them.
