343 Guilty Spark is the original Halo's sixth level and one of its most memorable, revealing the skin-crawlingly creepy Flood to players for the first time in what's surely one of Halo's all-time most atmospheric chapters.

Shortly after the player first meets the Flood, they can find a platform with four corpses atop it - two Marines and two Covenant-backed Jackals.

It's an immediately alarming sight to anyone paying attention, suggesting that the Flood's presence was so overwhelming that the ever-feuding human and Covenant put their differences aside to team up against them, albeit in vain.

While it's possible that the Flood dragged the corpses to this position in order to collect biomass, the fact that their weapons remain by their bodies seems to suggest that the corpses haven't been moved.

This simple sight conjures up some absolutely fascinating images in fans' minds, of the two beleaguered sides reluctantly holding the fort down together until they were overrun by the Flood.
