10 Greatest Unspoken Video Game Plot Points
3. Higgs Is Secretly Ordering Pizzas From You - Death Stranding
Hideo Kojima's Death Stranding is a game so richly dense with whispered-about revelations and secret plot twists that it's tough to pick just one.
But you might recall a series of side quests where Sam Porter Bridges completes pizza delivery missions for a man known only as Peter Englert - a man we never physically see.
Completing the missions is one relatively uneventful thing - as long as you deliver them on time, of course - but the man's name, Peter Englert, is actually an amalgam of names belonging to real-life theoretical physicists Peter Higgs and François Englert, who discovered the Higgs mechanism.
After completing villain Higgs' campaign chapter and defeating him in battle, the truth will be revealed to those who return to Englert's residence: he was Higgs all along.
The now-unlocked hideout has insane scrawlings written all over the wall and contains a memory chip fleshing out Higgs' backstory.
The idea that he was deranged enough to have you deliver him pizzas of all things is just the most Hideo Kojima thing ever.
