10 Greatest Video Game Post-Final Boss Fights
9. Masato Arakawa - Yakuza: Like A Dragon
All brothers fight, but few have done so in as spectacular a fashion as Yakuza: Like a Dragon's Ichiban Kasuga and Masato Arakawa.
Recalling all of Like A Dragon's lengthy tale would require its own ten-page article, but suffice it to say that Masato's beatdown at Ichiban's hands is well-earned. After 60 hours of bloodshed, hypocrisy and treachery, Ichiban's demolition job on his former bro is gloriously cathartic.
The fight itself is as one-sided as you'd expect a brawl between a hardened street criminal and a career politician to be, but that lack of challenge emphasises the point the game is making.
After dozens of hours of play-time, Masato has finally run out of underlings, schemes and excuses to avoid our hero. He's trapped, and watching Ichiban lay hands on the man who put him through hell is one of the long-running Yakuza series' most satisfying moments.
Also, the final slo-mo punch sums up the Yakuza games perfectly - ludicrously dramatic and over the top, but incredibly fun to witness.
And while we're on the subject of brawling bros...
