7. Mirrors Edge 2
Here is something to rival Killzones exceptionally short trailer - another exceptionally short trailer of equal length. The great thing about this trailer is that its beautifully constructed and presented from beginning to end, resulting in a smoother trailer when compared to Killzone which jumps abruptly into gameplay scenes.
The graphics are on point, the whole concept with Faith being tattooed while showing some gameplay in flashes is very appealing. To top it off, it is stated that all footage shown was from the game engine, which means that the whole trailer doubled as a technology demonstration for EAs subsidiary, Digital Illusions Creative Entertainment (DICE).
This would have been in one of the top five spots if it weren't for the fact that the trailer was extremely short, I know I said earlier, its quality not quantity that matters, however that doesnt give publishers an excuse to make trailers short, and this is proof.
Mirrors Edge 2 may be one of the most beautifully constructed trailers of the year but it certainly isnt the best. There are still equally good or better trailers that are also longer in length. Having said all that, Mirrors Edge 2 is one of the games I am personally looking forward to and will be a fierce competitor to its rivals.
