8. Matt's Death (Until Dawn)
There are so many violent scenes in Until Dawn and so many brutal ways for all the different characters to potentially die, but one of the most gruesome and memorable deaths was when Matt got skewered on a hook and left to bleed out.
Matt's one of the more decent and friendly people in the game, so it was even more crushing for players to see him die so horribly. Unfortunately, he was actually one of the harder characters to keep alive, with players needing to find a flare gun and let Matt keep it, or choose not to try and save Emily when the radio tower collapses if they want Matt to survive.
In most games, he was killed brutally in the mines, being attacked by a Wendigo and dragged along the ground, kicking and screaming. Without the flare gun to defend himself, Matt is powerless as the Wendigo lifts him up and thrusts him onto a metal hook, piercing his lower jaw.
