10 Guilty Pleasure Video Games We All Played More Than Any Blockbuster

8. The Simpsons: Road Rage

"Good artists copy, great artists steal," or so they say. The makers of The Simpsons: Road Rage must have been chuffed with themselves when they came up this - a shameless ripoff of Sega's cult classic Crazy Taxi, set in Springfield and starring the show's beloved cast of characters. It really shouldn't work, but for anyone with more than a passing interest in the show...it does. The controls are overly sensitive, the frame rate is a little sluggish and graphically it's nothing special. But for a fan of the series, it's easy to overlook these flaws and get immersed in that unmistakable yellow universe. Each character has their own vehicle which purists will immediately identify from specific episodes of the series, while all the major Springfield landmarks - including Moe's, the nuclear power plant and even Springfield Gorge are all present and accounted for. Most importantly, the show's humour runs through the game too - with funny one-liners from the Simpson clan and the huge gaggle of side characters. Like the Be Sharps name, these are witty at first, but seem less funny every time you hear them. Many licensed titles go wrong because they completely miss the spirit of the original source. Road Rage may be a completely unoriginal concept, but it totally captures the show's essence and warrants a play-through from any Simpsons fanatic.
