10 Guilty Pleasure Video Games We All Played More Than Any Blockbuster

7. Kung Fu Chaos

The original Xbox had a lot going for it; the then-revolutionary graphical power, the Halo series, and the small matter of Microsoft redefining online gaming with Xbox Live. It was the console for the "serious" gamer - no place for say, a comedy beat-em-up party game that riffed on old kung-fu B-movies. Which is precisely why Kung Fu Chaos, from English developer Just Add Monsters, has been forgotten by most. A shame, because this was a game that with the right group of friends provided a lot of entertainment. Multiplayer battles are unadulterated mayhem - not only are the cast of wannabe kung-fu stars beating seven shades out of other, there's also piranhas, dinosaurs and a plethora of grisly traps to contend with. Indeed, the varied battle environments - which spoof westerns, Jurassic Park and 1950s sci-fi are one of the game's biggest draws, boasting chaotic set-pieces and genuinely funny moments. As far as party fighters go, KFC was never going to knock Super Smash Bros: Melee off its throne. It lacks Melee's polish and obviously the roster can't match the Nintendo game. But if you have more a penchant for the kung fu genre, you can't help but love the game's sly winks to its source material. And any game with the excellent Enter The Dragon theme during the start menu is hard to completely write off.
