9. Detroit: Become Human

Regardless of what everybody thinks of David Cage or his often ridiculous and off the wall forays into video games one thing can be agreed upon, he at least tries to discuss the important stuff.

So in Detroit: Become Human it's immediately obvious just how much of the whole android situation is a poorly disguised allegory for racial tensions in modern society.

Detroit discusses issues of slavery, morality, and the mandatory sci-fi notions behind artificial intelligence, including its place in future social hierarchies. Through controlling the three seperate characters the players gets to experience every one of these issues in each of their most important social settings, as a servant, a revolutionary, and as the authority.

Despite how ham fisted the whole thing is the game obviously raises some very important issues with relations to race and subservience; should the androids be made to toil under their human masters? Especially when they experience emotion and feelings the same way we do?

Regardless of the players stance on the matter they can decide it all in game, and although there is definitely a wrong choice the game still allows complete control over whether to make it or not.
