10 Hard Video Game Bosses With Weaknesses You Utilised

Zelda II: The Adventure of Link is not an easy game. The 2D, side-scrolling gameplay is a challenge to get used to, as it was clear the now-revered franchise went through significant growing pains before it hit its stride on the Super Nintendo with A Link to the Past.

The most significant sign of its age is the way it looks and controls, and the part of the game that makes this most apparent is during the boss battle with Dark Link. There's little explanation for his existence, though many believe him to be a final test from the King of Hyrule.

After suddenly appearing from nowhere the fight ensues, and as he has the same abilities as our hero, he's tough to overcome. However, as it is on a 2D plane, it suffers from the same game-breaking issue that the likes of Mortal Kombat and Tekken do.

Scrolling to one side and crouching offers maximum protection against all attacks, so all the player has to do in this state is land a few hits before the boss goes down.

It's difficulty feels cheap, so its likely that players won't feel too bad about taking the easy way out.
