10 Hardest Legend Of Zelda Dungeons

4. Forsaken Fortress (Zelda: The Wind Waker)

Legend Of Zelda Link
Nintendo

Stealth segments in action titles are right up there with water levels on the list of things gamers cannot bear, and The Wind Waker's Forsaken Fortress is a great big one.

Although depriving Link of his sword for the duration of a dungeon was an interesting change of pace at the time, it also made life incredibly difficult for players, especially those who preferred hacking things to bits to sneaking around.

Most of the stage plays out at a crawl, with players creeping past enemies in a barrel. If spotted, they were forced to play through the area in question again, and that was more irritating than a thousand Water Temples.

Granted, Link obtained a wooden sword for the brief combat sequences, but there was further frustration when players realised they couldn't carry it between areas.

While not as challenging as some of the Zelda dungeons on this list, Forsaken Fortress is right up there with the most vexing.
