10 Hardest Video Game Bosses That Require INCREDIBLE Skill

1. The Final Duel - Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice

--SPOILERS for Sekiro's final boss--

There are three major roadblocks that double as tests of skill in Sekiro. The first is Genichiro, whose lightning fast attack-strings test your ability to parry entire flurries in one go, the next is Owl, who acts as a souped up version of this fight with all sorts of area-of-effect deploys and poison damage killing you over time, and the biggest stinker of the bunch, is Isshin, the Sword Saint.

Only... in the game's final duel, you not only face Genichiro again, but Isshin has a staggering three phases afterwards, comprising two-hit kill swings that start and end their animations in seconds, a spear form to stab you from farther away, and a lightning form that if you don't counter properly, will freeze you on the spot, if it hasn't killed you outright.

Together this forms a test of everything you've learned in terms of counter windows and timing, but also a pure test of patience. The battle can go on for a good 20 minutes each time, and resetting to the beginning is arduous enough, but factor in Sekiro's spotty camera that likes to de-lock in the middle of enemy movement, or thrust attack hit boxes occasionally being that little bit too cheap, and it's no wonder the majority of players have taken to deploying "cheese methods" to reach the end credits.

Like the Battletoads Speeder Bike tunnel made into a fight, if you don't learn every single animation coming your way, you're dead before you can say, "Collision detection".
