10 Hardest Video Game Enemies They Had To Patch

8. Group Bosses - Elden Ring

As FromSoftware's latest title, nobody expected Elden Ring to be easy. Difficulty is what makes their games famous, as is the amount of nuance and balance that goes into that difficulty. Enemies generally follow the same basic rules as the player. So when a FromSoftware boss needs to be nerfed, you know something must have gone wrong.

In the case of Elden Ring - considered a nearly perfect game by critics upon its release - multiple encounters had even veteran Souls and Bloodborne players ready to smash their controllers.

Of particular note are the group bosses. Because while bosses usually follow the same basic rules as the player, it can't help but feel like cheating when they gang up on you.

Now, post-nerf, they'll mostly take turns between aggressively attacking and hanging back, waiting for their chance to tag in.

Sure, it's unrealistic when a group of bad guys attack one at a time, but there's a good reason for that: nobody can beat a bunch of guys hitting and tackling them at the same time, and that kind of realism is rarely fun.
