10 Hated Video Games That Broke Fans

8. Marvel's The Avengers

When the company over Final Fantasy announced they were creating a role-playing action game centred around Marvel's most bankable superteam, it sounded like SquareEnix's Avengers game could not fail.

But fail it did. Marvel's The Avengers isn't just bad - it's spectacularly impressive how awful it is. The same month the game was released, Crystal Dynamics released a patch that fixed over a thousand glitches. Not ten. Not a hundred. A thousand. (By comparison, Metroid Dread recently released a patch that fixed... a single glitch.)

We're not talking about minor bugs that are barely noticeable or have a one-in-a-million chance of happening. We're talking about errors that screw up save states, block character menus, cause characters to fall through the ground, make characters play the wrong animation, play the loading screen on an infinite loop, or crash the entire game.

Upon its launch, pretty much every player noticed a couple of these alarming flubs. Because these mistakes were so apparent from the get-go, it boggles the mind why Square Enix felt like The Avengers was ready to be released to the public.
