Resident Evil 7 blew gamers away, bringing the series back to its terrifying roots while taking inspiration from more recent horror hits like Outlast and Amnesia. The game oozes horror from every grisly orifice and the moment that best captures all of the fear and charm of the latest entry in the long-running franchise is the famous meal scene, in which the player wakes up tied to a chair, introduced to the deranged Baker family and force-fed a plate of rotten food.

Resi 7 took inspiration from old American horror movies like The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and we can see that influence in full effect in this chilling sequence. The tension rises as the trouble-making Lucas giggles maniacally and tosses food at the player while the psychopathic matriarch Marguerite begins to lose her cool, culminating in the head of the family, Jack, almost killing the player character with a huge carving knife.
