10 Hidden Playable Video Game Characters You Totally Missed

As if the Suikoden series' infamous 108 recruitable characters weren't enough, Suikoden II also boasts several secret characters. But the most secret is without a doubt the protagonist from the first game in the series - McDohl.

By loading a completed Suikoden save at the start of the sequel, you can encounter McDohl late in the game. The two of you will temporarily join forces to rescue a local boy who's been kidnapped by bandits. After taking him to be healed in a nearby city, McDohl leaves the party, returning to his own house.

But if you talk to him again, he will agree to rejoin you "temporarily." All this means is that, if dismissed, he'll return to his home instead of your base, but you can re-recruit him as many times as you like.

Be warned, this basically breaks the game. Not only does McDohl have the end-game level and gear you completed Suikoden with, but he also comes equipped with the extremely powerful Soul Eater rune and can team up with your hero for insanely devastating attacks.
