10 Hidden Video Game Sequel Clues You Totally Missed
1. Deus Ex: Human Revolution "Jokingly" Teased Final Fantasy XXVII
Deus Ex: Human Revolution was first released way back in 2011, and was of course published by Square Enix, the company best known for their work on the Final Fantasy franchise.
Hilariously, the sci-fi sequel actually includes a half-joking tease for a Final Fantasy game that still hasn't been released yet - though clearly will in the distant future - and that's Final Fantasy XXVII.
In Francis Pritchard's office, you can find a poster for the hypothetical game, and though the poster art obviously has no bearing on what the real FFXVII will look like, there's absolutely no way in hell Square Enix doesn't eventually get around to giving us a 27th mainline entry into the series.
Granted, there's no way it arrives by Human Revolution's rather optimistic timeline of 2027, given the series' sluggish current release cycle.
In the last decade, Square Enix has "only" managed to release Final Fantasy 13, 14, and 15, and going by this three-per-decade release schedule, we'll probably end up with Final Fantasy 27 sometime around about 2050.
Short of the world ending by then, Final Fantasy is always going to be around, and so there's no reason why the series won't make it to number 27 and beyond.
