9. Microsoft Attempts To Announce The Xbox One
Remember kids - it's the next watercooler! Well done MS. You managed to spend about an hour talking about television when you were announcing your brand new console to millions of rabid gamers who were all screaming at their screens in unison that you were idiots after five minutes. Yep, the Xbox One's launch event was an utter disaster that should be looked upon by everyone at Microsoft as one of the biggest missteps in gaming history. Instead of getting everyone excited for a new console it left us feeling betrayed, hurt and spawned an inevitable batch of memes associated with 'TV, TV, TV!'. Now I'm no gaming marketing exec, but I think I'd have questioned announcing a gaming console without mentioning games pretty quickly. Microsoft is still trying to erase the damage to this very day, but for many, the damage was too catastrophic for them to bounce back from. The slowest of slow claps delivered to you Microsoft.
