8. Bart Simpson vs. The Space Mutants
Ladies and Gentlemen, allow me to present you with the game that introduced me to the concept of the rage quit. Classic platformers were always relatively difficult; games were usually extremely short back then and made up for their lack of length by killing you mercilessly and repeatedly every few steps before ultimately sending you packing back to square one. Bart Simpson vs. The Space Mutants was solid even by these standards. BSvTSM was heavily admonished by the critics upon its release for its extreme difficulty. They certainly weren't alone; I must have owned this game for eight or so years and I must have attempted to beat it at least a hundred times. I never once managed it. I'm just one of the many who never got to witness the ending. *20-Year-Old Spoiler Alert* If the above applies to you, how about a little closure? Check out the unjustifiably anti-climactic ending to Bart Simpson vs. The Space Mutants below and truly rue how many hours you wasted on it. http://youtu.be/UEZ6KUmVi3U
