8. Dead Island/Tales of Monkey Island
This for me is a cool crossover, a survival horror adventure with the Tales of Monkey Island's quirky sense of humour. Basically a first person Tales of Monkey Island set on Dead Island's Island with point and click controls and of course Dead Islands melee combat. What could be better than that? Ok so we have a lot of material to pull from both games here. The Monkey Island series on its own is a story set on a tropical Island where you attempt to stop the evil LeChuck and his undead pirates. So we pretty much just have to alter it to add more of the horror of Dead Island and yet still keep true to the feeling the Monkey Island series gives. Dead Island also has the combat and a new location for our hero. When it comes to main character choice Guybrush Threepwood is the winner hands down, no amount of awesomeness can top him. So Im thinking by now he may be getting tired of Monkey Island and fancy a trip somewhere else, somewhere like oooh I dont know, Banoi? (For those who dont know thats Dead Islands fictional Island) Its plain unfortunate that this Island should happen to be inhabited by the undead as well right? Now for the mix mash of controls and how the game should actually play. I think point and click should definitely play a part as its part of what made me choose Monkey Island in the first place. But melee combat in Dead Island certainly has its own appeal. A clever mix between the two would probably be the ideal game. Just quickly brushing on appearance, I think a cartoon 3D would do both games justice in this case. Tales of Dead Monkey Island anyone? Games Similar: Well both Monkey Island and Dead Island are very similar in style, for those who like their undead more pirate based Monkey Island is the game for you, but for a good undead point and click with more of a serious note to it I recommend The Walking Dead.
