10 Horror Video Games That Desperately Need Sequels

9. Alan Wake

Psychological horror fans rejoiced when Max Payne-developer Remedy turned their considerable talents towards a Twin Peaks-style adventure - and although the end result would displease those who wanted action-happy slow-motion diving, Wake was an incredibly memorable experience. Playing as a haunted writer who journeys into a remote village, you'll be battling the demons of the night by weaponising light in all manner of forms from flares to spotlights, making action run along at a great pace, all the while building on the mystery aspect of what you're up against. The DLC released built on the generally mysterious mythos surrounding the town of Bright Falls, and thanks to Remedy's sharp writing skills the whole thing has garnered a devoted following. However with their attentions focussed on Xbox One-exclusive Quantum Break, it's unlikely we'll see another Alan Wake any time soon.
