10 Hotly-Anticipated 2016 Video Games You Should Be Worried About

2. Mirror's Edge: Catalyst

Remember Mirror's Edge? Since the original game's abysmal commercial release in 2008, the title has since gone on to become quite the cult darling in many gaming spaces, with some fans of DICE's alternative first-person parkour title claiming it to be one of the most unappreciated hidden gems of the last generation. And while the game was good, it certainly wasn't the 10/10 masterpiece that the whispers surrounding it would have you believe. Although a sequel will no doubt be a step-up from that conflicted original, we've seen suspiciously little of the new game so far. Granted, it doesn't hit shelves until May, but we still don't know much about the now all-melee combat system, or even how much of it is going to be focused on hitting guys in the face rather than the smooth parkour the series is best known for. Likewise, free-running as a concept isn't as new as it was in 2008, with agile protagonists showing up now even in our zombie games. As a result, Mirror's Edge: Catalyst has even more of an uphill battle ahead of it to prove its relevancy in 2016 than it did eight years ago.
