9. Halo 5: Guardians
Halo's in a weird spot going forward, as original developer Bungie managed to essentially deliver 'Halo-with-stats' in last year's Destiny, leaving 343 Industries to take the franchise in some bold new directions for the sake of making it their own. And what are they doing? Adding Call of Duty-style perks and aim-down-sights gameplay features, that's what. Now that news is either going to terrify or enrapture fans of what Halo used to be, but either way the series is easily one of the most recognisable in all of video games worldwide. Following the actually rather brilliant take on the source material 343 did with Halo 4 - changing up the Master Chief into a more personable war-torn child hero - five could be the one that really goes the extra mile. With a certain key character down and the Chief in a worse place than he's ever been before, this is going to the one that makes or breaks the 'new trilogy' of titles going forward.
