10 Hotly-Anticipated Video Games Still To Come In 2017

We may only be a few months into 2017, but this year has already brought a collection of games that are sure to remain fan favorites for years. Nintendo returned from its dry spell by reminding gamers what truly matters, while sci-fi titles like Neir: Automata and Horizon Zero Dawn showed that originality will never be in short supply. This year has already earned a place in video game history.

This past month's E3 convention demonstrated the large variety of choice available. The epic sci-fi shooter Anthem showed clear potential for 2018's Game of the Year, while the cooperative prison escape A Way Out will bring an exciting split-screen challenge to gamers. The future is bright for the industry.

Unfortunately, it seems like plenty of these games won't release until 2018, and teased titles such as Metroid Prime 4 will likely take even longer. Naturally, this means gamers will have to wait months before any fantastic new games, right? Wrong.

Though some releases may be far away, 2017 is far from over. From Splatoon to South Park, here are some of the epic titles to prepare for before 2018.

Ask any owner of the new Nintendo Switch why they bought it, and the answer will likely be "Zelda: Breath of the Wild". Yet Nintendo has quickly jumped into action to expand their options, developing a sequel to the hit multiplayer franchise of 2015. Armed with a variety of paint-based weaponry, players fought in intense 4v4 battles with game modes such as the classic Turf War, which required players to coat the map in more paint than the opposing team.

The sequel seeks to add to this, keeping the exciting game modes and popular weapons, while adding new and intense changes, such as the epic PvE "Salmon Run", where inklings will have to fight waves of Salmonids while collecting power eggs. Gameplay too has been optimized for the Nintendo Switch, allowing for use of the dual joysticks and customizable control layout.
