Team ICO's third game is the weirdest thing. Where else do you have a title that was shown in working - seemingly playable - order, only for it to get delayed and vanish from all existence? The Last Guardian was first shown back in 2009 to a raucous response - especially following 2005's Shadow of the Colossus redefining what it meant to be a hero in a game - but since then, nothing. Well, next to nothing. Last year Sony head Shuhei Yoshida mentioned the teams were still working on it, going as far as saying to Eurogamer that "at one time it was looking possible. It has been totally re-engineered. They're still working on it. I've been seeing the progress." Strange, especially as just this year the trademark on the name itself has been abandoned altogether by Sony, meaning it's either getting renamed after so long - or more than six years of development time has been swiftly thrown down the drain.
