10 Hotly-Anticipated Video Games That Must Be At E3 2017

As Team Ninja's immaculate Nioh has proven, the whole 'demon-infested mythological take on Japan' setup is one that has immortal appeal. Though, one of the first franchises to nail this aesthetic was Capcom's Onimusha, a hack n' slash title born from the various Resident Evil 4 prototypes the developer made back in the early 2000s.

However, since the rather forced fourth instalment that felt like an outlier next to the original trilogy, the series has all but fallen away. In 2016, Capcom's Yoshinori Ono mentioned that he wanted to "reassure fans that conversations are happening at high levels", before stating that "fan favourites will come back."

Obviously we've not seen a peep of anything Onimusha related since, but with Nioh lighting up sales records on both sides of the globe, expect to see another instalment - or an HD remaster - sooner rather than later.
