10 Hotly-Anticipated Video Games That Will Disappoint You In 2016
5. Mirror's Edge: Catalyst
What will go wrong: First-person platforming doesn't mesh with high-octane action. If there's one thing that should be filed away as 'what gamers don't ever want to do', it's pulling off platforming runs in first-person. Unlike in third, it's impossible to really get a feel for where your character is going to land when you simply can't see them, and although the original Mirror's Edge got by thanks to bucketloads of style and a super-cool premise, Catalyst is amping up the action factor, despite its control scheme and overall feel starting to fall apart. There's a reason the original was forever filed away as one of those games "you really need to play" (but never did), and with EA veering more into set-pieces and spectacle through the footage available so far, it appears they're gunning for a wider action-happy audience, despite the game's core appeal being nothing of the sort.
