The news of Telltale Games' team-up with Marvel was announced by the respective companies back in 2015, but very little has been heard on it since. With the 2017 release date confirmed from the off, it is somewhat surprising that we haven't heard much about the progress of the game from either source yet.

With Marvel's new mandate around "making epic games" already leading to Insomniac's currently untitled Spider-Man game, we know that there's going to be something awesome coming from this partnership. But, while Insomniac have been handed the keys to one of Marvel's most well-known and regularly seen heroes, Telltale will take a different approach.

As the Marvel Cinematic Universe expands and adds new heroes, so too will their video game content. Audiences have changed a lot since Marvel's most established heroes forged their fates in the 20th century, and Marvel are fully aware of that.

Don't expect to see the likes of Cap or Iron Man as the lead in Telltale's signature style; this one's going to feature someone newer!
