4. Who Is Bowser Jr.'s Mother?
Super Mario Sunshine is, for the most part, one of the more lighthearted additions to the Mario universe. The whole game takes place on the beautiful beaches of Isle Delfino where Mario, Peach and Toad are taking a vacation, with the main missions in the game revolving around collecting blue coins and cleaning up graffiti with the new FLUDD machine.
However, the introduction of Bowser Jr. as the main antagonist opens up a whole new world of possible theories surrounding this little terror's backstory. In Mario Sunshine, Bowser Jr. frames Mario for creating the gloop located around Delfino Isle, causing the Italian plumber to be thrown in jail. He does this because his big dad, the Koopa King himself, tells him that Princess Peach is his mother and needs to be protected.
It's revealed that Bowser had lied to his son however, and that Peach isn't Bowser Jr's real mother. Bowser Jr. is a spoilt, angry little terror who is clearly lacking a maternal figure in his life, but the big mystery surrounding his heritage has been kept hidden from us all this time.
