9. When A Teammate Sacrifices Themselves For The Greater Good

We often find ourselves in situations we never intended on being in when playing online: bleeding out, pinned down and desperately in need of some last-ditch heroics. Thankfully for us, there are those out there who think nothing of running directly into the fray and exchanging their lives for ours. These heroes of online gaming come bearing medical supplies or repair equipment, shrugging off the shrapnel and seeing to our wounds before moving onto the next downed soldier, provided they make it that far. It's inspiring stuff. Sometimes their sacrifice is for the benefit of the whole team. In which case, you might see players darting through crossfire for the sake of capturing an objective, diving in to plant or disarm some explosives despite being totally surrounded by enemies. In extreme circumstances, such as those that often occur during a casual Battlefield 3 session, this level of courage manifests itself in kamikaze jet pilots who happily crash into capture points, killing any enemies who were attempting to wrest control over it in a fiery explosion.
