8. When You're Invaded By A True Gentleman In Dark Souls

Dark Souls is the gaming equivalent of being repeatedly punched in the face for hours on end, only to be rewarded with a fun size bag of Haribo Starmix. It's an exercise in masochism that's fuelled by piecemeal rewards, but it's one of the best gaming thrills out there. It's why when you're invaded by another player €“ one who's often better equipped and prepared for PVP than you are €“ your heart races and your palms begin to sweat, as all the progress you just made stands to be wiped away by some tireless sadist. Sometimes however, someone who puts etiquette and fair-mindedness before anything else invades us. These are the players that gesture their goodwill to you, they wait for you to change your equipment, find a decent spot to fight, lend you some humanity to heal up and of course, bow before and after battle.
